Space Coast Scholastic Chess is the organizer of chess tournaments for Brevard County children during the school year. They hold monthly tournaments at various schools, each attended by about 100 students of all ages and grades. USCF membership is required.
United States Chess Federation is the governing body of chess in the United States, and membership is required to participate in most tournaments. The USCF runs tournaments (Scholastic and Open) at the State and National Level, sells equipment, and publishes Chess Life magazine each month. The BCC is an Affiliate of the USCF.

is a not for profit organization chartered by Peter Dyson and Dr. Peter Koretsky, to promote and help support scholastic chess activities in Brevard County.
Internet Chess Resources

Chess.com is a terrific website, filled with training tools and useful articles about chess. Many  features are free, including the ability to play with other students. Premium memberships are also available.

ChessKid.com is a great site for Kids to play and learn about chess. Many features are free. Gold membership is $50/yr, but available through BCC for only $15.

ChessGames.com is a free chess game database. Over 500,000 games, sortable by; player, opening, result, etc. This is a great site for preparing your openings.
